Los Angeles freelance journalist Libby Slate learned those fascinating facts while writing about her favorite topics: entertainment and the performing arts. She regularly writes for the Television Academy's Emmy magazine, emmys.com and emmys.tv, Performances magazine and the Orange County Performing Arts Center's program and website ocpac.org; Oprah Winfrey once told her, "I loved it!" after reading a profile of herself that Libby wrote in an Emmy Awards program.
Libby’s other credits include the Los Angeles Times (more than 300 articles, two columns), TV Guide, Hollywood Reporter Magazine and Disney Magazine. In addition to her celebrity interviews, she enjoys spotlighting the behind-the-scenes craft and art of entertainment.
Figure skating is another favorite focus. Libby has profiled many notable skaters, toured with Champions on Ice and inadvertently helped make history with her Skating magazine cover story on Nancy Kerrigan, cited by rival Tonya Harding's camp as a reason for the attack on Kerrigan at the 1994 Winter Olympic trials.
